The new Monaco RV Company |

| In June of 2009,
Navistar purchased the majority of the assets of Monaco Coach
Corporation out of bankruptcy, and formed a new subsidiary, Monaco
RV LLC, with the objective of adding the Monaco Brand to their
other internationally known lines of transportation products.
In so doing, they divested themselves of the liabilities of the
bankrupt Monaco Coach Corp., including warranty obligations. I
completely understand why Navistar made that decision. With
the phenomenal lack of tort control that exists today, limiting their liability was obviously in their best interest and in
the best interest of their stock holders. However, this
decision has understandably been a point of contention with several
owners of new Monaco coaches that were sold with a one year warranty
period.
I am not yet sure how this page will develop. Time will tell. My intention is to post interesting tidbits from or about the new Navistar company. Meanwhile, I offer the following without comment at this point... |
